Founded in 2006, Spanish Moss specializes in top shelf vintage collections, artisan designers, and an in house ready-to-wear, American Gold. Uniquely operated, Spanish Moss doesn’t aim to be one stop shopping but a tightly curated collection of what its founding members love and find inspiring. Spanish Moss & American Gold have been mentioned in French Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Australia, Vogue UK, Marie Claire, Glamour, Blackbook, NYLON, Foam Magazine, Refinery29 among other publications.

Vincent & Suzanne Ford-Carafano are the creators and owners behind Spanish Moss and American Gold. Suzanne’s addiction to searching out and collecting vintage clothing and artifacts started at an early age. Some of of her earliest memories are of traveling for months at a time across America with her family, reading and sketching for hours as the American landscape flew by her windows. Suzanne is inspired by folk art, southern gothic authors, 60′s French films and ethnography. Vincent gains inspiration from his graduate studies in Literature and Philosophy, listening to Tom Waits, his time spent traveling in India and his youth spent on the Mexico border. In addition to Spanish Moss and American Gold, Suzanne & Vincent hold fast to their first loves: devouring classic literature, attempting to write a great American novel, playing music, finding new avenues of artistic expression and roaming the highways and country roads of America.
